Environmantal Statement and Policies
Environmental Statement To meet today' s ever changing environments, OCI Contract seating is engineered, designed and constructed to confirm to the proper ergonomic dimensions as defined by the "National Standard For Human Factors." Seating products meet ANSI-BIFMA X5.1.1-2002, certified by an independent laboratory.
OCI's objectives include conforming to Federal and California Environmental laws, including meeting all Air Quality Management District requirements for the State of California. OCI is committed to reducing waste and promoting energy conservation. To this effort every effort is made to purchase components containing recycle material. Programs are established in the factory to conserve energy and water, prevent pollution, reduce Green House Gas, recycle scrap, and safe dispose of solid and/or hazardous waste.

Environmental Policies RECYCLE EFFORTS:
*Components used in manufacturing are: nylon, aluminum, steel, polypropylene and wood. All are 100% recyclable.
*Offer several fabric grades of fabric that contain up to 100% recycled content.
*Cartons contain 35% recycled material [post-consumer and/or post industrial] and meet standard performance requirements.
*Leather scraps are picked up for recycling into other goods.
*Blanket wrap delivery in certain areas of the country eliminates the use of cardboard cartons and the disposal of these cartons in these areas.
POLLUTION PREVENTION:
* Adhesives are 100% water based.
* OCI meets all Air Quality Management District Requirements for State of California requiring very low VOC emissions.
ENERGY and WATER CONSERVATION:
* Factory lights are turned off during non-manufacturing periods including breaks and lunch time.
* Seating manufacturing does not require the use of large quantities of water.
DISPOSAL OF SOLID AND/OR HAZARDOUS WASTE:
* Polyfoam is ordered to specifications which eliminates need to trim and thus eliminates the need to dispose of excess material.
* OCI meets or exceeds all State of California and Federal solid and/or hazardous waste laws.
GREEN HOUSE GAS (GHG) REDUCTIONS:
* Seating manufacturing has minimal impact on producing Green House Gas to the environment.
DISPOSAL OF SOLID AND/OR HAZARDOUS WASTE:
* OCI meets and or exceeds all Federal and State of California solid and/or hazardous waste laws.
